This week's Spotlight Wednesday student is Katelynn Clow!

Katie is a student in the adult Musical Theatre, Dancing and Acting classes, and has been a part of Spotlight's programs for many years!  Her previous shows with us include Back to the Eighties, Nutcracker and High School Musical.  Katie is also an excellent artist who designed and created many of the sets for our previous and current shows.  Check out her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ArtByKatelynnClow?fref=ts to see her amazing work!

Whats Going on at Spotlight

We are 8 weeks out from Cinderella and everyone here at Spotlight is working hard to get this show up and on stage in time!  Sets are being built, costumes sewn and all of our actors are working hard to remember their lines and dance routines!  It's going to be an excellent show, folks! And I'm sure you'll all want to see it, so make sure to purchase your tickets at the Harbourfront Theatre in Summerside by calling 888-2500 or going online to https://www.harbourfronttheatre.com to purchase them there!

Cinderella Kids Rehearsal

Registrations for our Acting and Art March Break camp are ongoing, but filling up fast!  If you want to register your child for our camp, email reasha@spotlighttheatrecompany.ca or call 902-724-3050 during business hours.  As you know, campers get to play fun theatre and improv games, create their own character in a fantasy world and learn how to create their own props, sets, and costumes!

Hello Again for Spotlight Wednesday where we feature a student in our classes. 

This week we feature Raena Parent

This is Raena's Second year in Spotlight Classes she takes Musical Theatre, Drama and Improv and she has performed in last years Spotlight Production of Back to the 80's. Raena is a Student at KISH who loves to sing and act.

Its Cinderella Saturday ~ Time to Meet the Cast

Today we feature Anastasia (Emily McIsaac) and Drizella  (Dominique LaPierre)

Emily McIsaac (10) is playing the role of Cinderella’s evil stepsister, Anastasia.  She says her sister told her she’d be good for the role, and she’s really enjoying getting to be evil. Emily likes playing Anastasia, because she doesn’t need to master waltzing or curtsying.  This will be Emily’s first major production with Spotlight Theatre after joining us in the fall, and she hopes you’ll all love the show!

Dominique Lapierre (12) is playing the role of Cinderella’s evil stepsister, Drizella.  She says that her character is snobbish and whines a lot, and even though she likes playing Drizella, she wouldn’t want to be her friend!  She loves working with Spotlight and she’s excited to be back with us this year. This will be Dominique’s second production with Spotlight Theatre, the first being Alice in Wonderland. In true evil stepsister fashion, she says you better come see the show… or else!

 

Flash Mob Friday!

Its that time again for Flash Mob Friday! 

Again one of our favorite groups everywhere have taken their antics to a regular old shopping mall where they stage a crazy musical sequence in a food court!

Spotlight Wednesday Jamey Smallwood

This Week's Spotlight Wednesday Student is Jamey Smallwood 

Jamey is a student in out Musical Theatre Beginnings class and is also performing as the Fairy God Mother in Cinderella. This is Jamey's second year with Spolight and she has participated in the Acting Step up program, the Musical Theatre program and played Alice in our production of Alice in Wonderland. 

Jamey Loves Acting is getting ready to start Hockey in the 2013/2014 season.

Flash Mob Friday

Hey welcome to our new fun activity Flash Mob Friday! We love the idea of flash mobs at spotlight so here is a cool vid to chill out and watch!
