Its Cinderella Saturday ~ Time to Meet the Cast

Today we feature Anastasia (Emily McIsaac) and Drizella  (Dominique LaPierre)

Emily McIsaac (10) is playing the role of Cinderella’s evil stepsister, Anastasia.  She says her sister told her she’d be good for the role, and she’s really enjoying getting to be evil. Emily likes playing Anastasia, because she doesn’t need to master waltzing or curtsying.  This will be Emily’s first major production with Spotlight Theatre after joining us in the fall, and she hopes you’ll all love the show!

Dominique Lapierre (12) is playing the role of Cinderella’s evil stepsister, Drizella.  She says that her character is snobbish and whines a lot, and even though she likes playing Drizella, she wouldn’t want to be her friend!  She loves working with Spotlight and she’s excited to be back with us this year. This will be Dominique’s second production with Spotlight Theatre, the first being Alice in Wonderland. In true evil stepsister fashion, she says you better come see the show… or else!

 

Flash Mob Friday!

Its that time again for Flash Mob Friday! 

Again one of our favorite groups everywhere have taken their antics to a regular old shopping mall where they stage a crazy musical sequence in a food court!

Spotlight Wednesday Jamey Smallwood

This Week's Spotlight Wednesday Student is Jamey Smallwood 

Jamey is a student in out Musical Theatre Beginnings class and is also performing as the Fairy God Mother in Cinderella. This is Jamey's second year with Spolight and she has participated in the Acting Step up program, the Musical Theatre program and played Alice in our production of Alice in Wonderland. 

Jamey Loves Acting is getting ready to start Hockey in the 2013/2014 season.

Flash Mob Friday

Hey welcome to our new fun activity Flash Mob Friday! We love the idea of flash mobs at spotlight so here is a cool vid to chill out and watch! This weeks post is an organisation called Improv Everywhere famous for acts such as the annual No Pants Subway Ride. This was their piece called Frozen Grand Central Station.

This weeks Spotlight Student is Kendall Paugh!

 Kendall started with us back in September of 2011, performing in our productions of the Nutcracker, and Back to the Eighties. Since performing with us her confidence has grown

 Kendall is now competing in Maritime Idol in Moncton this Saturday!  Break a leg, Kendall!

Cinderella rehearsals are now in full swing!  We had our first one of the year last Saturday and the cast and crew are excited to be back and getting ready for the show!
